Glad you enjoyed this one. The father son relationship is always one of the better aspects of the show and you get to see why Shawn is who he is. If you were wondering the pineapple was being eaten by Shawn as he fixed the doghouse this episode

The female detective from the pilot was replaced because, according to Steve Franks (the creator/producer/writer/director, also the the theme song is sung by Franks' band The Friendly Indians😜) after the pilot was screen tested, alot of people came out with a bad impression about the male det. Lassiter, he said that many people thought of his character as this cheating bastard, even though there was a line of dialogue where he said that he and his wife were separated, but not many poeple picked up on that, and Steve Franks had plans to develope his character, but he was afraid that Lassiter having that stigma would jeopardise his development, so they went with the replacement. And this is kind of bias for me to say because we only got one ep with the first actress, but even from this ep I thought this two detective characters are a better duo, you have the more harsh and unpleasant one in det. Lassiter and you balance it out with the more polite and kind in det. Juliet O'Hara.

It is available on Prime.

Steve Franks the show creator grew up the son of a cop / detective. The find the pineapple was inspired by his college job of working at Dole's Tiki House at Disneyland.

I've been watching it on Amazon Prime, just fyi.
