Season three is really when this show finds it’s legs in terms of storytelling. And yes, the new villain does stay around and get a number of great ass kicking scenes. Gideon sticks around for a while too and gets more screen time later on.

Consider that when we first saw the Monolith back in season 2. It had those holes carved into it. At the time many wondered why, was there a pattern, why are they there? And now, we see that it was either planned or retconned beautifully. The monolith is destroyed, long live the monolith.

All the pieces come together this episode. The writers truly care about their story and this episode is telling a great one. I love Coulson and Rosalind relationship and how it was coulson’s tricking her instead of the other way around. The character relationships are the best part of the show and they really know how to build them. FitzSimmons have their first kiss but it is so confusing and painful.

What a great episode. Forgot how good this was. Watching these uncut has actually been great because I'm starting to realize how much I'm not getting in the 10-minute reactions I normally watch.
