Honestly I thought this was the weakest episode from storytelling perspective so far. I am glad i enjoyed your reaction John more than the ep itself, hah. The first half was pretty good and i really liked the visual water slashes Tanjiro was making when swining his sword and they way these visteria flovers looked I wondered if it looked even more impressive in HDR (if anime started doing their stuff in hdr that is) since the anime itself has very vivid colors with a lot of digital effects that I feel lend itself to HDR stuff . Anyways my biggest issue was how the main big demon dude was expositing about how he killed Urokodakis students. It just seemed so forced to me , not the idea itself , since I like the idea a lot . But the execution felt very cartoony , demon dude was just answering Tanjiros question in the middle of a battle , both of em stopped and chatted lol. IDK maybe its just me , but the whole scene was really getting to me , hahaha . Whats even more suprising I thought the reveal at the start of the episode about Sabito and Mikomo being dead was way more natural. And I just have no clue why they did the demon dude expositing that way . I am glad at least you were not bothered and the episode itself was saved by decent looking animation /action sequences and the dynamic between Urokodaki and Tanjiro. The way Urokodaki congratulates and hugs Tanjiro it was really good stuff . It humanizes Urokodaki when it was not necessary .

This demon reminded me a lot of Envy from FMAB with the contorting arms, growing bigger etc. Nasty. Lol That OST that plays when he’s walking through the wisteria is probably my favorite track. Like you said this show is just gorgeous it’s mesmerizing.
