Compare the tone of this episode to the first few of the series, very surprising. It went from Pokemon to attack on titan.

Gotta love the Hunterpedia this arc. Just Gon and Killua talking about Baise like she didn’t get her skull crushed by Shimizu’s adorable vacuum cleaner...

I think all that set up and build up for this arc/season was well worth for this kind of payoff. When HxH gets violent it gets really violent , it commits to that to show how deadly these people are and how violent the show is , HxH manga writer and the show creaters do not fuck around , lol. I remember first time i saw the whole hall full of dead people and just blood everywhere, that was pretty fucked up. And killing two of the side characters that we have known for a bit was a good reminder that the show is okay with killing named characters . And later down the line when the phantom troupe dude sorta bended /broke that one mafioso neck with a single slap, that was quite something hahahah. In hindsight i wish i was quiet about how the show can get fucked up and dark later down the line . I just think i could not hold my excitment when you started watching the show . The more unassuming person watches the early parts of the show the more shocked they are when this arc starts , lol Also showing some new nen abilities with the vacuum thingie and gun hands was pretty cool.
