Love me some Jackie Chan! In more modern stuff, I loved his part in Karate Kid - such clever choreography. In the first film, the kids bullying Daniel are about 16/17 years old. But in the remake, the kids are much younger - they couldn't have an adult beating up a bunch of 12 year olds. So he choreographed a whole fight where he doesn't hit any of them, but causes the kids to beat each other up. Loved that.

Pagemaster!!! ♥️♥️ I just rewatched that, an all-time favorite! Snow White Happily Ever After has a fantastic Malcolm McDowell villain too :) I’ll have to revisit pre-Rush Hour Jackie Chan to fully appreciate his repertoire! However, I did play an NES Jackie Chan game that I looovved. —I think 🤔 mine would be Michael Keaton + Beetlejuice, which kickstarted my Tim Burton obsession 🖤 As always thanks for the response and sharing your stories :)

2021-07-15 04:53:02 It's kinda hard to just choose a movie and hard to remember🤔...I believe it was the action genre stars that I enjoyed the most Sly, Jackie & Arnold the good and the bad 😁 I'm not sure why but Legend of the Drunken Master stands out to me some of those stunts where crazy🤯

gotta love Jackie Chan! 😁 I'd have to say my earliest memory of my love of cinema is family based as well. my aunt has always been super into film and I must have been like 7 when she introduced me to The Princess Bride. I don't know what it was about that film in particular but it's always stuck with me as the first film that really captured my imagination and drew me into the world of film. maybe it was because of the idea of the kid being read the story and him imagining what it was like, bringing it to life? my aunt would always read to me before bed so maybe that was it. at any rate, that's my earliest memory of films. she would always introduce me to classic black and white movies as well. it's because of her that I know about Clark Gable films, Sidney Poitier, etc...she's a huge film buff! haha

Ahh, that's a great call! Hadn't thought about that film in a while, but he's pretty great in that. Very clever regarding the fight choreography there, I just watched it back upon reading this. Clever that, yeah, he's using mostly defensive blocks & holds & then redirecting them towards each other. JC's always had a knack for fun & creative fights.

Haha yesss!! I haven't seen it in ages, but I used to watch it constantly growing up. I used to run around pretending I was in the library scene running away from/getting swallowed up by the big wave of colors lol. Somehow growing up I missed that there was a Snow White sequel 😮Malcolm McDowell seems like a perfect fit there, though. Jackie's got some great Hong Kong & just generally pre-Rush Hour flicks. One of his films that came out around the same time I always really liked is called "Who Am I?" although Greg could recommend you a whole boatload of JC classics. Great call with Beetlejuice, though! Of all the Burton joints, I didn't actually see that one until later, but I can definitely see why it'd captivate & really switch on that early film love. Appreciate the love & thanks for sharing back as always! 😊

Not bad!! Doesn't always have to be one particular thing - and the classic action heroes were kind of a lane unto themselves. Got all sorts of scattered memories of Arnold, Stallone, Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Steven Seagall... didn't grow up on those movies as much as Greg, probably, but definitely had that awareness. Legend of Drunken Master's great, tho!! I feel like we may have been talking about it recently during one of the Stuntmen React videos... some KILLER action in that one. Feel like Greg first showed that to me back when we were still kids haha.

That's so cool!! It's awesome that you guys have that to bond over :) sounds like she's introduced you to a pretty broad range of stuff! Not everyone appreciates the classics.. as for Princess Bride, though, that's definitely one of the movies that was formative for me as well. Was on A LOT growing up my family still uses various quotes from it to this day haha. And yeah, especially as a kid, that extra lil layer of relatability being bored at home, sick, and being read a story I think really brings you in. That little meta touch of what's great about fairytales... while also delivering a fairytale. Pretty great pick!

Awww 😊 It made me truly love the art of storytelling. I plan on recreating the books as a craft project for my beloved characters! — I know you get a litany of movie suggestions “you need to see” but, I really feel you’ll enjoy Happily Ever After with all the fantastic cast behind it, especially since so many have passed on. I’ll brush up on my Chan collection lol Always a pleasure! :)
