The name Carver Edlund came from SPN writers Jeremy Carver and Ben Edlund :)

For me personally I really like the occasional bits of show sound you guys put in as it helps me match back up in case I have a buffering issue or I had to pause, but I also get not wanting it sustained as the echo can be annoying. So maybe just bursts of show sound for like thirty seconds a couple of times an episode? I'm happy with what you're currently doing

For me, the sustained echo is too much. I gave up again. If it was occasional that would be totally fine. I just wanted to give my two cents - I know you have weigh a lot of opinions. Overall love the reactions.

"I am the prophet Chuck!" I love this ep. This show pulled off the "in a story" concept so well while still giving us great moments and introducing a fun new character. I can't wait for the last three episodes! Also, like toasted todd, I prefer the audio for the stream-along loud. I do not need picture, please don't get yourselves taken down

Toasted Toad

So glad you liked this one. I don't really have much to add to your comments this time - you pretty much covered everything and I agreed with you! I do like though that the whole episode was emhasising how what Chuck had written would come to pass, no matter how the brothers tried to avoid it, but at the end, they did in fact find a way around, thanks to Cas. So the "destiny" issue is always open for argument. "I am the prophet Chuck" definitely one of SPN's finest moments!! 😂😂 Sound works well for me on this one. I actually now play your video on my laptop and the visuals on my iPad muted. That way I can sync up with your streamalong with no echo and still know where I am. p.s. why did you think having the anti-possession tattoo wasn't a good idea?

Steve Rivera

Well at least you liked this one! 😂 Another fan favorite for obvious reasons. The meta humor + the main story arc halves of this episode just make this episode so fun for two completely different reasons, and is meshed together perfectly, as you said. As for Zachariah, I think his tone was meant to cheer up Dean, but it wasn't as lighthearted as you might remember. After all, Zach says he's down here "straighten out his ducks". When Dean gives him attitude, he shuts that shit down. He tries to appeal to Dean by talking about the driving classic cars and fornicating with women, but you can tell he's doing a business pitch. He's higher up in the celestial chain, and you can tell he's there to just get this over with.

I don't have any problems with the sound. The only time there is an echo are the few times you increase the sound - or whatever it is you do. I just reduce the sound on my end. I need those sound bits to help me sync the videos. I am horrible at doing it using the timer. I think it also helps that I download the episode from netflix instead of streaming it online. That gets rid of any buffering issues. I have to do that because my internet isn't up to streaming two videos at the same time.

About the episode: I love this episode and I could tell that you were both really into it too. You seemed really focused. I don't always like meta. And I don't like determinism stuff in stories. But I like this episode. I was very much like you both when I saw this one the first time. It flows so smoothly that you don't realize how much is actually happening at first. A lot of development type "stuff" happened in this episode. Added to what has happened before, and it makes for a lot to think about. Ahhh - our little show is growing up. There was a lot of meta put into the episode. The writers drew from real things regarding the fandom stuff. I still did not like the idea of Fate and Destiny that was presented again in this episode. What helped was the fact that Dean was able to thwart that once Cas decided to help. I really could go on, but that's enough. I'm sure you'll hear lots more. Crap. You're really close to the end of this season!

Steve Rivera

And about that odd cut, yeah I bet they had to cut out stuff for time. If you noticed, there wasn't even a recap. The episode just starts with Chuck. It was a super packed episode!

sarahzentexas

When I first watched this, it instantly became my favorite episode, so I totally understand your delight! It’s not the last epic meta episode from this show...nobody does it better than Kripke. Nice job!

honestly i feel like it was kinda ballsy for a show to straight up go, "yeah, a not insignificant part of our audience wants our two hot brother characters to make out," and honestly good for them lmao. and castiel has SUCH a great moment in this ep. i adore how you can see him work around the rules and bend them w/o technically disobeying heavens orders.

Reggie B

i agree! every once in a while turning the sound up for a moment helps me sync up the ep w/o being distracting

Reggie B

oh yeah, zach totally gives off "i was sent here by corporate" vibes, all about getting that bottom line.

I would prefer if you like once in a while played the audio so i can see if i'm still in sync, i've noticed that watching from Prime Video i only have to sync it with you guys in the beginning and it stays in sync for the rest of the episode. This episode is great imo, expanding the "bible world" a bit more. This is the second episode in a row that you guys suspect the Trickster :D Chuck's casting is on point. Also i believe (correct me if i'm wrong) but this is the first ever Supernatural episode in which no one dies.

Appreciate you understanding - and glad you're still able to enjoy some of the other vids! This stuff is good for us to be aware of as it gives us a chance to check in with the community as well. Considering a more spread out approach to the in-video audio at the moment, we'll see where we wind up for the next shoot.

thereelrejects

Hahaha such a great moment 😂this episode had so many awesome little layers to it. And yeah, really enjoyed the approach to the concept & how it gave way to the main plot. Appreciate your feedback re: the audio as well! Taking in all the feedback we can get at the moment. Do you like it to be sustained for as much of the show as possible or is a loud stretch at the top of each segment suitable?

thereelrejects

Gahhh, such a good episode!! And that's a great point re: Castiel & the destiny argument, I hadn't thought of it that way. So it's more like the prophesies are incredibly difficult to avoid, though not impossible. And YES lol, still giggling over the Prophet Chuck 😂🙌🏼 Appreciate your feedback on the sound as well your sync technique. Generally speaking, would having a chunk of audio at the top of each segment rather than continuously throughout be a hindrance for you? As for the tattoooo, I'd have to inquire with Gregory haha, but I'm wondering if he wasn't referring to the placement.. 😅

thereelrejects

Hahaha yes, finally back in-sync with the base 😝definitely feel why this one's a fan fave. Still thinkin' about it! And that's a good point re: Zachariah haha, I kinda forgot that. His demeanor's probably more for function than general pleasantry. He's obviously much more inviting than Uriel, but I suppose I shouldn't be too comfortable each time he shows up either 😅

thereelrejects

Good to know, appreciate the feedback! I think regardless we'll always have some audio throughout to help you orient along with the timecode. Now it's just a matter of figuring out whether to raise the audio for a bit each segment & then duck it all the way out or to keep it up consistently throughout the show... 🤔

Jeffrey Mlinek

This is an amazing episode to rewatch, after watching the entire series to this point!

Chaos T

Season 4 and 5 are even better to me knowing how the story ends. Puts a lot of these episodes in context, particularly this one.

Chaos T

It's the story writing in this episode where you can see why The Boys is an amazing show.

BunkerGirl

Just your friendly reminder from the Destiel shipper in me that Cas read and admires Chuck’s work.. which includes “full-frontal Dean.” 😂🤣😂
