Matsuda was getting on my nerves too, fuck that god damn guy .lol I do agree with you that it was more straighforward and controlled episode , but i think i dont mind it . I think early death note was like that too with spurts of just crazy shit going down. Honestly i prefer this over past few eps that were flashy and crazy be it plot or visuals . Dunno . Maybe cause the show is near (hah) its end , so a bit of normalcy is welcoming. I get the feeling you gonna miss the headbanging after the show ends ,lmao. And i really liked the tension when the dude was going through Mikamis case and locker , good use of camera shake too.

Hahaha, there are ways in which I find Matsuda amusing, but I'm still constantly left wondering exactly how he made it to where he is lol. I appreciated the straight-forwardness of this one also. Like you said, it did kinda harken back to the earlier days of the investigation in a nice way. Not exactly sure how to put my finger on it, but things felt a bit less frenzied? And the tense moments grounded things pretty nicely - like you said, really liked the sequence with Gevanni in the locker room. Was worried we were gonna have another Ray Pember or Ukita on our hands. And yes lol, I am going to dearly miss headbanging at the beginning of all these episodes. God and we've only got 3 left!!! 😫
