I love that there's even extra care put into the titles of these episodes. It's usually a phrase or word that has obvious context for a specific situation, but still applies thematically to everything in the episode. Buccaneer really didn't die until he knew the gate was secure. There's is an obvious love between him and Olivier. For Buccaneer they've hinted that it could be romantic, but for Olivier it seems like a love born of respect and one she has for all of her men. It almost reminds me of a WAY more subtle version of the Jorah and Dany dynamic from the early seasons of GOT. Hawkeye and Mustang tend to act irrationally when the other is in danger. It made that last scene so potent. The direction and animation are so spot on in moments like that. They do their best to try and make you feel the gravity of the situation. I felt for Ling so much here. I thought it was poetic that a man who obtained immortality would have to confront his mortality when he realizes he can't save someone he cares about. Ling's been searching for immortality this whole time and in that moment he realizes that it isn't the answer to all of his problems.

Greed/Ling taking on the soldiers is one of my favorite sequences from the series! I was so caught off guard by Hawkeye getting wounded, I pretty much had the same reaction you did! I like that the series went there and it shows there are real stakes at hand for each of these characters. Also it breaks my heart because they are SO in love.

Good take on Buccaneer and Olivier! Definitely Dany and Jorah vibes.
