I was about as disappointed as I've ever been watching an episode of television.

I loved it. Looking forward to rewatching it along with y'all!

Let's do it - I'm available the rest of this week and next week! Huzzah!

I loved it, bittersweet the way it should be. It definitely could have done better with another season to have everything stretched out, so it wouldn’t seem so rushed but that’s pretty much the only issue I see.

Just watched the full stream!! I couldn't agree more!! This episode made me cringe 😂😂😂 but still Game of Thrones as a whole series still remains one of my favourites. The writers killed this season with this finale hahahaha I'm glad it's over so no more ridiculousness remains 😂😂 Can't wait to watch your GoT prequel series reactions 😉

Still... it showed a perspective to the real world, where there never is a happy ending and that unexpected things always happen whether people like it or not hahahaha

I...I have some thoughts... My problems with this episode are a result of the season being so rushed. Bran being named king is good on paper considering his knowledge, but they've done nothing to actually earn that decision any emotional investment. Everything with Dany's character was missing a middle section where she starts to show more of this crazy side. The way she spoke to Jon in this episode made it known that she didn't go full mad queen, which is why the decision for her to destroy the city is now even more puzzling. Drogon not killing Jon and apparently understanding the complexities of politics was really weird. That was the most insulting part of the episode for sure. Tyrion dictating the conversation on who should be king was an odd choice. I don't think he was in a position to speak as much as he did, but I'm glad that the writers were able to sort of tap into what made Tyrion a great character. Even through bad writing he was able to talk himself out of a bad spot. I hate how they did their best to invalidate his judgment all season, so it's nice to know he could still pull something off. I also thought the council scene was necessary. It was a good way to establish the dynamic between the people who are really going to be running the kingdom. Yes, it played out like a comedy and I honestly expect nothing less coming from that combination of characters. The Starks got their happy endings and I actually appreciated that. Arya never wanted to be a politician so it makes sense for her to go explore. She also mentioned in a previous season that she wanted to see what was to the west. I'm not the biggest Sansa fan, but she's been screaming for the North's independence for a while. She also mentioned in season 1 that she wanted to be like Cersei. In a way her being Queen of her own kingdom pays that off. Jon's is actually my favorite ending. Since season 1, all he wanted to do was go north of the wall and live a life like his uncle Benjen. Now he's able to do that undisturbed by the white walkers or politics. Plus the wildlings were the only people that accepted him for who he was. For some reason people were throwing titles at him wherever he was despite him being unqualified for the position and having no interest in it. He can chill out with the wildlings and actually live. Oh and I think it's poetic that Jon helped create this new world everyone is about to live in and yet he has no place in it. He never found a place in Westeros where he actually belonged. His ending keeps that consistent.

Really glad you enjoyed it! Definitely can appreciate where some of our characters wound up & all that, definitely bittersweet. Would have loooved if they gave it more time, but still much to appreciate 😊

2021-07-15 05:11:57 Haha yeah, this is true. The more distance I get from it and the more we're able to just kinda reflect on it and everything, I certainly don't hate it overall. And all things considered, I liked where a fair amount of the characters wound up, the main issue was just the handling & execution of the character elements for the most part. Either way, it's been quite the incredible journey & not one we'll soon forget, I think. Excited to revisit some day. And either way, really appreciate all the love you've shown us for these!! It's gonna be weird not having Game of Thrones to shoot anymore haha.
