This was the last semi-chill episode of the series. From here on out things start HAPPENING. I thought it was good to have Ed touch base with Winry before the promised day. She's been a motivation for him this entire time and having her give him that push he needs to say he's going to save everyone and actually mean it is crucial for the upcoming fight. It was never explicitly said, but I assume the plan was for everyone to stay in Liore while Marcoh and Scar went off on their journey. The way their reunion was presented made me think Marcoh was just waiting for them to come back from work so they could head out. I love that Scar is interacting with other Ishvalans too. Seeing him continue to grow in his way of thinking has been refreshing. Grumman is really cool in this episode. They've built him up as this master chess player that is always one step ahead of his opponent. Even if the victory will likely be shortlived, it doesn't change that he outsmarted Bradley. It was also cool seeing team Mustang back together. Falman is still in Briggs and Havoc is paralyzed, but seeing them ready to go as a unit again means a lot.

When it comes to songs in anime... It depends. Most of the time, they get bands collab their upcoming songs with the upcoming anime they're producing. Usually, these songs have themes in common with the show but are mostly vague enough to be sold as a separate product or in future albums. Another approach that is used is to pick an old or already released song that can fit with the show well enough. That being said, the last approach is to get a band to write a completely original song JUST for the anime. THESE songs are kinda rare since they're so intertwined with the show's narrative, and in turn, are harder to write for. It also means it can't be sold as easily as any other song.

2021-07-15 05:16:52 Ohhh, I believe ya haha. Just posted the next one today and HOLY SHIT! Appreciate his check-in with Winry as well - that's actually an aspect I'm looking forward to seeing better upon a revisit, because I feel like she turns back up at sorta calculated moments. And yeah, definitely a nice emotional thrust for the final leg. And that would make some sense re: the plan. Did sorta feel like I missed something at first when they were just chillin' there, eating and waiting on the others, but I like your interpretation. Maybe there was a deleted scene or a moment left out from the manga or something.. And yes! Really cool to see them all together, both contextually and.. it's just a badass shot with Scar in the foreground and them all standing up on the ridge. Hopefully now the remaining Ishvalans will have their due! I got my eye on Grumman at the moment, but that was super-gratifying - and enhanced by the way they orchestrated all that. Seeing it from the opposite side, you really *feel* that they've been outsmarted haha. Definitely hoping to see Briggs & Falman again at some point - and still holding out hope for some sorta turning point for Havoc, but either way - it's gonna be badass to see Mustang & co. start to take action!

Appreciate your insight on this, mate! I guess that would make sense. I'm kinda surprised the fully-original songs would be the rarest, but it does seem like they'd only have legs (for the most part, anyway) as novelties. It's gotta be an honor to have your song chosen, though.. thanks for watchin with me! :)
