My experience with YT notifications is that it's all over the place. I'll get notifications galore for channels I watched one or two videos but didn't subscribe to or click the notification bell and I'll find video's I haven't been notified about backed up on channels I've been a long time subscriber / notification bell rang...

I occasionally get the notifications for your uploads but I always check your channel on a daily basis anyway so I don't miss a video even if a notification for it didn't come through. I still find it weird that YouTube has a separate subscriber button and a bell button rather than the subscriber button covering both like it used to.

Weird 😕dunno what's going on under the hood, but I feel like this is about the gist we've been getting on the subject lately - real shoddy, at best. 🤔 Either way, really sorry to hear you're not getting an unobstructed stream of your content. No worries if you don't know, but any idea how frequently you get notified about our uploads? 1 out of every 3, or 5, more, less, etc.?

Appreciate that, mate!! Really sorry to hear they're not notifying you like they should be. I wish we had a better idea of how any of this stuff truly works, but unfortunately it tends to be a bit.. mysterious.. 😅 It's definitely odd that the subscribe button doesn't do more. And furthermore that the notification bell doesn't seem to notify people all that much either? Either way, really appreciate you keepin' any eye out, man. Really means a lot :) Out of curiosity, do you remember at all how frequently you do receive notifications about our uploads?

It seems when I only go to channels I subscribe to it works as it should but when I go exploring I start getting notifications for these channels I visited and notifications for subscibed channels get pushed to the back then I'll get a steady stream of notifications of the subscribed channels catching up if I remain online for while...hope that helps

Yeah, I do wonder why YouTube decided to add in the notification bell when the subscriber button alone done the proper job for years before. Especially when there might still be some viewers thinking they don't need to click the notification bell if they've already clicked on the subscribe button. Perhaps, YouTube could have a Google ad-type thing on the home page or at the side of a video page that has a short message to explain its importance and raise more awareness. Although I don't think that's the main thing causing the issue here as you both regularly remind new viewers to also click the bell along with the subscriber button. It probably also depends on whether or not a viewer has a significantly large number of subscriptions. I think I probably receive notifications for about 75% of your videos after upload so that's why I regularly check your channel just so I don't miss out on anything. I do hope YouTube finds a solution to the notification problem soon especially when it's affecting great Youtube channels such as yourselves.

That's a good point, I've definitely sorta wondered whether a lot of people's subscriptions are just too overloaded or something.. That does seem like a possibility and I know that people get notification fatigue now and things like that. But just the same it does seem like there'd have to be a better solution for managing people's subscriptions. Just looking over our own Subscriptions page, I wouldn't exactly say it matches what I know we watch most of the time. Maybe in some of the kinds of content, but not so much in the specific channels and videos included. It's weird. 🤔 Still, though, I guess if you're seeing roughly 75% of the uploads, it could be worse. Just weird it seems like YouTube never quite works the way they say it should 😅but oh well. Really appreciate you checking our page and all that stuff. Means a lot, mate 😊

Interesting.. I guess this makes some sense. Just further has me questioning how their system/algorithms work. From this it sounds like they just split the recommendations between your subscriptions and your viewing habits.. Seems like it 'd be smart of them in future to turn those into two separate feeds or something.. 🤔 like I get the principle, but.. doesn't seem like it's working all too well in practice, currently. Either way, though, appreciate you taking the time out to relay that info. It's good to know either way :)
