With all the information we've got so far, why/how do you think Erens dad is still alive?

None of what im writing is a spoiler btw just some important info you didn't catch. I realised last week that you thought Erens dad was still alive when you asked if he was the beast titan. I thought id let you watch this episode to see if you would realise before saying anything but he isnt. Back in that cavern when Eren saw his dad memories you see him get eaten by titan Eren in the forest. Because Eren got turned into a regular dumb titan the only way for him to turn back human was to eat someone who could turn into a titan; his dad did that intentionally so he would get eaten and give him the titan shifting power as well as the coordinate that he just took from the Reis family. Like just before he turned Eren into a titan he attacked the Reis family and took the power from them. He did that right after the wall fell. So he wasn't outside the wall because he had just attacked the Reis family that happened a lot later on, we dont know why he was outside the wall.

The whole flash back is done from the POV of his dad. It only shows one shot of his dad, and its through the reflection of Erens titans eye as he is about to eat him. Also i dont think there is ever a line specifically saying he ate him, so thats probably why you didnt notice. You may think you miss alot of stuff but you dont tbh, its just that we comment on the stuff you miss so it may seem that way. And there has been alot of info this season.
