Greg, you'd seen Cementos in action twice before! Once in the USJ when he threw up a cement wall between the students and All Might so they wouldn't see his shrunken form, and again (multiple times) in the sports festival when he set up (and constantly had to rebuild) the stage, and threw up multiple walls between Midoriya and Todoroki at the end of their fight to save them both seconds before that huge final explosion.
