The Movie Scores We Think Are Best Suited For It's Film!!!

David Gandy

Great Q David W! Have to agree about J Williams. You can't think of ET, SW, Jaws, Raiders, Close Encounters, etc without his music coming to mind. Bernard Herrmann's Vertigo and Psyco soundtracks come to mind too. The Godfather's soundtrack is really integrated into the entire experience as well. I'll leave with Hans Zimmer's The Lion King soundtrack is up there for me as well.

Gotta agree with most of those to be fair, John Williams most definitely. Surprised nobody mentioned Mike Oldfield's work though such as tubular bells from the exorcist of course. Great mention David G. Hans Zimmerman's lion king is fantastic and a perfect accompaniment

2021-07-15 05:24:22 Some good picks here, man! (And always happy to see the camaraderie 😊) Can't deny that John Williams is one of the most prolific. I feel like you don't even have to know his name or have seen any of the films his music features in to know at least a few of those themes and melodies. Good calls on Bernard Hermann & The Godfather as well 👌🏼 Oddly The Lion King is one I don't think I've heard in quite some time (like any of.. up until the trailer just recently haha). I'll have to go back and revisit.

Oh, man!! Haha that definitely should've come up. The thing is, after a certain point, I think we'd just be sitting there rattling off great scores for and hour 😝(which wouldn't be a bad idea, although perhaps not entirely interesting for that amount of time?) Like I told Mr. Gandy, I'm gonna have to go back and revisit the finer nuances of The Lion King soundtrack. I think I missed the big 3-D revival a few years back, so it's been an age-and-a-half since I've actually seen/heard it 😅
