If you ever want to react to a Korean band thats a little less pop-ish, I would highly recommend "The Rose" I really think you'd like their songs "Sorry" "Like We Used To" and "She's in the Rain" they're a very underrated band. All three of those songs have music videos. Edit: "Sorry" was their debut song.

Their song “Boombayah” from their first album is pretty fun too! It’s a great workout song. Lol I’m actually really into BTS and they’re having the biggest year of their career right now in the US, it’s so interesting to watch. Touching on your production question, I think it differs from group to group in Kpop. I’ll admit I don’t know much about the production of Blackpink’s tracks, but I know members of BTS produce and write a majority of their own songs. Their sound gets inspired by a lot of different things depending on the theme of their album at the time. If you ever wade into the BTS pool, hit me up. Lol And like Spree said above, there are other korean artists you may be interested in checking out! I like IU, Heize, and Nell (they’re a Rock group).

Interesting! I'll have to give that song a listen as well. And I've been hearing a ton about BTS lately haha, really does seem like they're taking hold over here in the states. Pop isn't my main genre, but I would certainly not be opposed to checking out their music. If there's a particular BTS vid you think would be good, I'd be down to do a video on it here. By all means happy for a recommendation!! :) As well for some of the other groups you mentioned - would be very curious to hear some Korean rock. Interesting about the production side as well - I'd be curious to hear more, but it makes me happy to hear they author a lot of their own stuff haha
