Yeah, this felt like a transitional episode, and how they handled fights fell really flat to previous episode. I think I am not as bummed about it, because to me this episode feels more in line with S1. So I kinda expect some filler episodes that do not flesh out characters and their ideologies. But maybe it's just because I do not held MHA in this super high position as an anime, lol. Not saying its a mediocre show or whatever. IDK Like I agree with you guys, especially in contrast with previous episode, but I do not think this ep is out of character for this show.

I feel ya. I think it's the positioning more than anything, riding high off that last episode haha. But that's a good point, I do remember more of these kinds of episodes popping up in the first season. It'd be different if this were FMA or Attack on Titan or something like that I think haha. I liked some of the matchups, at least theoretically - the Iida match was pretty amusing and I loved the idea of matching up Yaoyorozu and Tokoyami. It's a fine episode, just.. not much more than that haha.
