Oh man, one of my favorite shows! I hope you know going in that if you do this once a week it's going to take you over five and a half years just to catch up to where we are now. Not counting any episodes that come out during those five years. So yeah, good luck, ha!

Hahaha yes, we have been made aware of this. We'll see how things go, but at least for season 1, I think we're gonna proceed linearly 😂 But y'never know, maybe we'll hop around when we're deeper in. Hope ya dig the reaction!!!

I just finished it! I have the blurays and it didn't sync up time wise at all. Not sure what's different but even when I got it synced a few minutes later it was off. So I finally realized you guys were watching on Netflix when they got to the scene where you mentioned the music differences I switched to that. It lined up perfectly from then on. Also when he pops that tape in on the bluray the song is Back in Black by AC/DC. Also the first main arc of the show is the first five seasons. When Kripke created the show he had a basic five year outline and while it extends well beyond that the story that starts here wraps up pretty well in five seasons.

Y’all making fun of Jensen Ackles’ name had me cracking up Lol. But he is a pretty solid actor! I think he and Jared Padalecki have great chemistry which will come through more as the show progresses. I will say this show does have some pretty great sfx and cgi. Especially for when it started (2005). Loved the reaction! Sorry Greg that you won’t be able to use your idea for your passion project. Lol

Ahh, good to know! Not sure why they wouldn't sync unless they recut stuff for Netflix... or sometimes with differing frame rates things will get weirdly out of time... appreciate the background info, though! Seems smart to go into a show like this with a decent gameplan. Clearly must've worked haha. And wait, so the music really is different on Netflix?! I heard it goes back to normal for the second season, but I was sorta hoping by now they'd have it back to the originals haha.

Hahaha it's a good Scandinavian name 😝 ...hopefully he never sees this lol. And even with some of the criticisms of Jared Padalecki, I can definitely imagine their chemistry growing. At least based on this first episode, I definitely got a feel for them as brothers. And I liked him well enough in Friday the 13th haha, so there's that. Was quite pleasantly surprised by the fx given both the time this came out & the network. Excited to see more of what they come up with!! ...and that's alright haha, we'll live. Just more motivation to go out and make the story that much more original!! 😅

Yeah there's a lot of music replaced in the first episode. Like Highway to Hell plays when the car is driving away from the house after they defeat the Woman in White. One of my favorite scenes of the series is in 1x06 and it's set to a certain song and I am certain it will be changed and that's unfortunate because it really makes the scene more powerful. But anyway yeah music plays a huge part in the series and everything I've read says it's only the season one episodes on Netflix that have this issue mainly because they aired on the WB and the licenses didn't carry over because that network doesn't exist anymore. If you're ever curious about what song was originally in the episode you can use tunefind.com as it's a repository of music from TV shows.

Okay, so I'm watching all of these in the wrong order so my comments are a bit all over the place! It's great to see you enjoying yourselves, but such a shame you are watching with the wrong soundtrack. If you ever get a chance, have a watch of the DVDs and you'll see what a difference it makes. The whole vibe changes. As with a lot of shows, SPN took a while to find itself in its first season, but the music was there right from the start. And the boys might be making nice money now, but in the early seasons they were getting paid peanuts (as I've said elsewhere, Season 1 budget was $200k all in). I saw Jared in an early film (Princess Diaries?) where he played a small role. It's amazing that guy managed to have a career as an actor. He was AWFUL!!! Fortunately, he'd improved a lot by the time he started here and has got a lot better since.
