Nickelback was a welcomed surprise. I don't know when/why people started dogpiling on this band, but it's totally uncalled for. Call me crazy, but when I don't enjoy someone's art, I simply don't partake in it. Harboring some petty vendetta is all types of pointless. I have a soft spot for their song "Hero" off of the Spider-Man soundtrack. Good times.

2021-07-15 05:31:09 Aww, definitely share that same soft spot for "Hero" haha. And I agree! It's hard to tell, sometimes, how things become memes, exactly. I sorta feel like that's what hating Nickelback became was just a weird sorta pop-culture meme back in the day. But generally speaking I think we both tend to fall into that camp with you - if you're not into something, move onto something you are into. But I dunno. People seem to enjoy gathering around the things they (lightheartedly) dislike just as much as the things they do like, so who knows? Part of me almost feels like it's a weird form of endearment... Not that it's a perfect comparison, but kinda like the way people love The Room or Plan 9 from Outer Space for being "terrible" despite the fact there are qualitatively worse, less competent films that are much more challenging to sit through.. In a similar way, I think some people would actually be bummed if we were to obliterate Nickelback from the canon of life & culture, because they aren't *that* bad and, in a way, that makes them lovable despite all the fun that gets made of them.. At least that's how I take it haha... end novel!

Not exactly guilty as everything has sentimentality so no shame here haha. Movie: Howard the duck... early childhood favourite for a time. Tv: Any cookery show... cooking is my passion but gets a bit excessive at times. Books: The Last kingdom series by Bernard Cornwell... Just fantastic in general. Food: Home made ravioli... nice crab, lobster and prawn filling with lemongrass, lime, chilli, ginger and spring onion (scallion I think you call them). Served simple with parmesan and a dressing matching the flavours of the filling, and crispy bacon crumble sprinkled over. Extravagant and decadent but I love it. Music: Disney songs... I have a 2 year old daughter... and I wish that could be my excuse but always loved showtunes and Disney haha
