Not Deliver, Meet Expectations, or Exceed Expectations?!

Comments

Ron Harrison

Bought my ticket in advance and loved seeing the movie.

Heru Muharrar

Story wise it met expectations. But ask anyone before this film if Thanos would be in contention for best villain of 2018 or if Marvel could ever produce a villain that good before the film came out. That guy exceeded expectations.

Contention for best villain of 2018?! In my opinion he's in contention for best superhero villain of all time. Not saying he's #1 but he needs to be in the conversation

I think it exceeded my expectations, because the ending pushed it into a different kind of movie, that stands on its own.

It exceeded my expectations! I love this movie!!! I may be over doing it but I’ve seen this movie 4 x already and I might see again tonight.

That's great to hear! I read the Infinity Gauntlet comic and the essence of Thanos is there. There's definitely differences in the portrayal, a little more of the MAD Titan, but Brolin's subtlety was great balance

I definitely agree he should be in the conversation. I Was having a convo with someone last night and I specifically said - "In the MCU, Thanos is easily the scariest / most threatening villain. However, my favorite villain is still Killmonger. I just felt a lot more for him."

DAMNNNNN ROSA!!!! YOU ARE A TROOPER!!!! Love that about you! I'm actually watching it a 3rd time on Thursday at IMAX (Universal Citywalk). I've heard it's thee best way to watch it on a REAL IMAX Screen. There's a lot of BS Imax screens, so if you're gonna watch it a 6th time, do it there! Happy you love it - I know how excited for the film you were!

It is!! And I just got out of watching it for the 5th time. I’m lucky to say I’ve watched it in every format possible and IMAX was by far the best! I love this film!! And perhaps I’ll end up watching it a couple more times.

Given the amount of characters involved I KNEW how the movie would be structured and knew that it would cause people to be divided. But to be honest this was an EVENT, yes it was a movie and many will think to review it under the same rules of story telling but in all honesty it kind of sits in its own category (for me anyway). As a once in a decade "Thank You" event for fans from the Studio. Aaaaaaanyways.....that just my thoughts hahaha... YOU GUYS ROCK :-)

Aw haha, thanks man!! Definitely agree with where you're coming from on this. There are definitely ways to engage with and sort of critically break down a movie like this, but it kinda falls into its own - or at least a very specific - category since there are so many things it inherently has to be and achieve. Definitely some stuff about it that's divisive, but overall we're glad to see that most people are at least appreciating it. Don't have another Last Jedi on our hands... lol. Appreciate your thoughts, man. And thank you for joining us!! 😊
