The story is actually pretty similar to what you guys thought. There was an animator who saw a video of baby jumping spiders and thought how cute they were, and thought how cute they would be animated. So he got his nephew to do the voice. He did it to kind of help people get rid of their arachnaphobia. There needs to be a Pixar movie starring Lucas. And the animation already looks really good for it just being one guy.

I would actually check it out if they made a movie. It's oddly interesting and captivates my attention somehow haha

Also turns out the guy works as an animator at Disney. He worked on Zootopia.

Hah! Not bad!! Definitely got a Pixar vibe from the textures and the overall look. If not a film, it'd definitely be fun to see little Lucas come back in something a bit more substantial... perhaps a pre-film short?!
