the uniforms during this time, Washington like the color Blue so they continentals wore blue coats with red cuffs around the wrists with white cross belts. accent colors on the coats usually distinguished which Army regiment they were with. Some Higher ranking officers wore a lighter shade of blue coat with gold accents. I read that was inspired by the French Uniforms and they liked it, but also during this time money was just starting to come in for the Army, and shortages on different colored wool fabrics etc. and money towards uniforms wasn't nearly as important as using that money on weapons etc. however as the war progressed more money started to come and Washington who was always a "snazzy" dresser wanted the army to be more uniform. And yes she is correct about the bundling bags...You asked how he got his "axe" (tomahawk) fighting skills, in the French Indian War the colonists were supported and helped by a list of different native tribes. As for Mel, it's been over 10 years since he was drunk and lost his temper and said somethings.. We all have said things we regret in our lives. But canceling his is just so dumb. What happened to be tolerate and forgiving? And any canceling I don't agree with, that is the exact opposite of actually what this movie is all about. Freedom, Freedom of speech has always been a right since this war was won.. Freedom to not pay attention, or to listen to one speaking is a right as well. canceling is actually a violation of the Bill of Rights. In the late 30's someone thought canceling was a good idea and it got way out of control.. Mel has admitted his wrongs, he has apologized profusely for it. I think its ok to forgive and move on. Because again let's be real.. who hasn't said something out of anger or temperament that we end up regretting or feeling bad about. Only difference is he for some reason is held to a higher standard because he's a star and it was recorded and released to the public... There are a lot of "stars" that have said and done a lot of stupid crap, we're all human. Anyway, didn't mean to rant. ha. please forgive me if I upset anyone.. But yes Mel is a fantastic actor and an amazing director. His directing in Hacksaw Ridge is mindblowing..
