This technique vlog is all about a skill that most of us probably don't think about: how to make use of video, to get the most out of your training and, for those who fight, how to review and interact with your fights. I've watched a lot of video of myself over the years. Not only do I voice over all my Muay Thai Library sessions with legends and Krus, which involves at least two watches (one to reacquaint myself with the lesson, then again while recording), I've come to record my daily sparring sessions with Yodkhunpon, and I also record voice over commentary on my own fight videos, posted for free up on YouTube. I realize that as a self-critical person, who used to not be able to watch any video of myself without beating myself up over even small flaws, over all these years I have actually honed the skill of how to watch video of myself. I've developed techniques for how to approach what I see in video, so that I can get something out of it, rather than just forcing myself to witness my own self-criticism. That's what this vlog is about. I'm sure others have had the same struggles I've had, so maybe what I've found for myself will help you, too. And, hopefully, in a couple years I'll have developed/discovered even better methods, because skills should always be malleable.

Jim Molter

I video myself training sometimes and what I see is a 60 year old man trying to move like a 20 year old and not quit pulling it off. but I keep trying.
