Dear Patrons,
First of all thank you for all the support for me as a fighter and the entire Muay Thai Library documentary project. It means everything and it keeps everything going. The linked video is an explanation of how I became injured: in short I was thrown from a spooked horse, landed into a cement fence, and have been incredibly limited for what is now 9 days (at the time of writing) and may be a few weeks more. Good news is that doctor #1 ruled out broken bone and doctor #2 believes there is deep contusion and hematoma along my spine, kidney, and iliolumbar ligament but in his opinion isn't torn. He gave me an injection for pain and inflammation and said if improvement doesn't follow in 2 weeks we should do an MRI, but he anticipates improvement. That's really a relief to me because I handle pain quite well but the incredible degree of immobility has been mentally hard. I'm confined to just a few positions. I can't stand for more than 10 minutes, can't sit for more than 2 minutes, can lie down in 2 positions and can walk VERY SLOWLY for very short distances. Due to my inability to sit, I can't yet do the voiceover for the next Muay Thai Library session. So please forgive the delay, I really am excited for the content and want to be able to give it my all. Hopefully I can get to a lasting seated position soon. Until then you can watch the nearly 150 hours of archive that we've been able to create so far, that patrons have helped make.

What's Coming

Last month we took an epic trip into Isaan with Karuhat and filmed multiple, absolutely wonderful sessions. We have all of these ready to voice. We filmed with:

1. The long time 96 Penang trainer and Golden Age champion Kaisuwit Sungila Nongki

. Chaiyai Sit Karuhat (a late 90s fighter who was trained by Karuhat when Karuhat was a fighter as part of a "Karuhat" gym)

Chaiyai with Karuhat (above, photo right)

. Cherry Sor. Wanich (oh my, a Muay Khao legend that we so much wanted to film with, and was very hard to find!) -

you can see a really beautiful preview of this session in Kevin's photo essay on Cherry and our work with him, he has an amazing clinch lock that he taught which some have started using in their training, just from Kevin's essay. One person wrote saying nobody can beat it in their gym, calling it a "reverse rear naked choke".

see Kevin's photo essay here

4. Early Golden Age legend Samingnoom Sitboontam (one of the elite fighters of the 80s and Thai Olympic boxer at Seoul.

he wonderful Therdkiat session just up was from this epic trip too. One of the most loved top champions of the 1990s. Be sure to watch it if you haven't.

So I have a lot of excitement in getting the entries into the Library and published for all of you; I'm frustrated and sad that I can't have it up but, again, the Preserve the Legacy Project is a precious archive and I just am not able to meet that until I've healed a bit. Until then you can always follow the Muay Thai Library on Instagram where I am posting old photos and stories of the Golden Age, filling in details on Muay Thai history and our project.

Again, thank you so much to everyone who supports this content; thank you for valuing it and giving it the love that you do. And thank you for supporting me as a fighter. Hopefully I'll be able to begin my active recovery in not too long, I look forward to getting in the ring again, and resume my technique vlogs. Thank you for your encouragement and support to me and Kevin. It means everything to us.
Thank you for your patience, great stuff is coming.
