I'm no stranger to injury. Something hurts at all times and learning to train around such issues is just part of the game. In my years of training through pain, as well as training around pain, I've come to really appreciate that the mental approach you take makes all the difference in what you get out of, rather than what you lose out on, that process.

This vlog was made just after I'd split open my shin in a fight and I'd spent the past 2 weeks sparring and getting back into training, down one shin. I had stitches for 12 days and even after taking them out, I was cautious about kicking and blocking prematurely because I don't want this to become a recurring injury. In the past I've turned punches into elbows (broken hand) or stopped using the right leg entirely (broken foot; pain in the tendons), so this technique vlog is a development out of the "replacement" school and the "omission" school. I feel like this time around the way I'm training around the injury is much more an approach to increasing my confidence on surrounding weapons or tactics, rather than just maintaining with temporary techniques until the strikes and blocks I'm more confident in are able to come back online. It's an opportunity to build.
