Always looking to create new kinds of content, made possible through the support of patrons. This is a detailed look at the experience of training at one of the more "authentic" gyms of Thailand, the home of Sangtiennoi Sor. Rungroj.

I went to go and train and film with Wangchannoi a 2nd time for the Muay Thai Library, that session is coming up soon, and wanted to get extra work in myself because it's such a long trip to Wangchannoi's. So, we got up super early and drove to Sangtiennoi's gym for the morning session to get great padwork and clinch in, first. Kevin came up with the idea of filming the whole thing and commentating over it all, making an overview, and helping people who have never been to Thailand to see what training at a gym like Sangtiennoi's is like. He shot really beautiful footage, and we also turned the whole thing into an audio podcast, in an experiment. Let me know if the audio is interesting enough on its own.

The video is public for everyone, you can find it here on YouTube:

One of the great and unexpected things is that I was lucky enough to clinch with Sangtiennoi's champion Kongchai, who holds the 115 Rajadamnern champion. He was a great training partner, and our clinch helps show the kinds of ways Thailand's clinching might be different than other places in the world.

Also, Sangtiennoi offered individual instruction, teaching really important things to learn for Muay Thai fighters, and the padwork is really good. I hope you enjoy this little bonus piece of content, extra to the 2 sessions we produce for the Muay Thai Library. I want to share more about the gyms and common training of Thailand.

Be sure to also watch the Sangtiennoi entry in the Muay Thai Library here, if you haven't already:
