In this bonus session. Bonus sessions are more informally handled than Muay Thai Library entries, with less write up, but this is a great session with The Elbow Hunter, teaching his incredible Elbow and Knee Muay Khao pressure style. There is tons in this session, but a big part of it is watching how as a southpaw fighter you use the lead closed-side elbow and then the open side knee (or cross) in tandem.

We also filmed this 5 film super slow motion of Yodkhupon kneeing the bag with his cross-grab, how to train the knee action he often uses to control and defend. A still below:

If you can't get enough Yodkhunpon here is more material:

You can see 4 full sessions with him in the Yodkhunpon Intensive. My Intensive series is separate from the Muay Thai Library spending repetitive days with a single legend. It's On Demand and  55% of the profits go straight to the legends, so you are supporting great ex-fighters:

1. That Gallop - Yodkhunpon Intensive Day 1

2. The Game: Who's Gunna Quit? - Yodkhunpon Intensive Day 2

3. Like Oil On Water - Yodkhunpon Intensive Day 3

4. Has Nowhere to Go - Yodkhunpon Intensive Day 4

You can also subscribe to the entire series, and get full access to over 35 hours of detailed commentary videos, including all of Yodknunpon, and Karuhat, two great elbow fighters of the Golden Age.  There will be 3 more days of Yodkhupon added to the Intensive series (at least!), and other Intensives are planned. 30 days of Chatchai Sasakul has been filmed, and 7 days of Dieselnoi, Sagat and General Tunwakom are planned. Patrons get a discount on the subscription (look to the promocode on Patreon). The Intensive project was made possible through my Patreon support.

There is also Yodkhunpon in the Muay Thai Library

Is it weird that I keep watching this (most of Yodkhunpon's sessions for thay matter) for the kicking maybe even more than for the clinch? It's the flip side of learning a different style of clinching from fighters that don't use it as their main fighting modality. When, at least I, think of kicks they are supposed to be these big-scoring, exclamation point-like strikes. Yodkhunpon's kicks are thrown with the intent to be followed up by the next strike and have a sharpness that seems that come out of nowhere, the continuity and smoothness of the golden kick and golden age fighting in general. I also can't help but admire his energy. He has this calm demeanor, you could almost call it sweet, meek even if viewed at a standstill, yet it belies a violence that seems to just abruptly apparate when he starts moving. It makes me wonder to what degree this energy was born out of elbow fighting and how much clinching and elbows were just the best fit for its endless, sudden brutality.

Having been on the receicing end of those kicks, they are so fast and sharp. Like a really stiff jab, maybe.

Were other intensive series made other than Karuhat & Yokhunpon?
