If you are interested, start with my first article on my experiments with the keto diet:   My Keto Diet as a Muay Thai Fighter - The Mental Advantage . The above is my vlog update on how a few things are going for me. For about 3 weeks I've been measuring my blood glucose throughout the day to prepare for some possible targeted ketosis training in the future, and found some significant fluctuations, some of which may have been produced by the luteal phase of menstruation (women's blood glucose is elevated), or by "glucose sparing" (when muscles prefer fat over glucose once fat adapted, due to an change in receptors). I mostly talk about how fasting, or only very light eating, has still produced very high energy levels for me both in training and in a fight, and how in two fights now fasting after the fight for the next day seems to have helped with recovery and inflammation.

All questions welcome in comments below.

Once I have enough data on my glucose levels I'll be posting those in a more thorough update. Note: the benefits I'm seeing in energy levels a very likely a result of first becoming fat adapted. I would not expect them for someone who hasn't gone through the 3-4 week process first.

It's very interesting to get your feedback about this diet. I discovered it by reading your previous post about the Keto diet. I read many books about it and I am giving a try. It seems this diet can be risky on the long term if not well done. I am a bit nervous about the bad consequences it can lead to. It's difficult to find where is the truth about nutrition. At the moment, I feel this 'unlimited' energy available but it seems that my muscles are suffering more than previously. They are probably not adapted to use fat as fuel yet so I'll keep going few extra weeks.

Very cool, have you checked out the Ketogains website? I know you aren't trying to gain muscle but the macros might be more applicable to your training.

I have seen that website and listened to a few podcasts from him as well. Thanks.

I used to put my body into ketosis to make weight. Worked great but I hated feeling constantly thirsty..& my breath kicked like Bruce Lee no matter what I did.

With what I've experienced with Keto, a lot of people tend to think any fat source is viable. This is where after 6 months - a year people tend to have indication of major health problems in the long run. The key is to consume fats from a healthy source and not just any available 'fat'.
