Above. This post is available for everyone, patrons and followers of patreon alike. It's just me sharing in a very concrete way the template I use for mental training in fight preparation, especially focused on my experiences preparing for my last fight. My 283rd fight. I'm hoping that some of you can connect to this.
The book I worked from and discussed is: "The Confident Mind" by Dr. Nate Zinsser, and the three workbook-like basics of the approach is (watch the video to see how filled it out and used it, so you can come up with something unique that might work for you):
Take inventory of abilities, achievements and improvements both short and long term.
Take stock of the situation. What, Who and Where?
Understanding that you are good enough, right now, as is.
For patrons there is a collection of Mental Training videos that I've done over the years, including a reading group I conducted, which you may find interesting!
You can browse that collection here.
Also, these are the Mental Training blog posts I wrote on my blog 8limbsus.com, which may be of some interest to folks. They trace some of the discoveries I came to over the years, as I came to them.
that collection includes this list of Mental Training resource that I've found helpful.
If you enjoy the way I talk about things you may like my Sylvie Run Casts. It's just me talking about my process, things about Muay Thai, on my daily runs. You can watch or listen to them here in this Playlist, and just subscribe to YouTube Channel.
