My mentee and I recently revamped her profiles on Hinge and Bumble, she put in amazing effort for three days to get six sets of new pictures. The results have been amazing– her new  Hinge profile is getting tons of attention and engagement.  However, the overwhelming response has left her with over 200 messages. She's really happy that the makeover worked so well, and she loves all the attention she's getting. But now, there are so many messages coming in that it's a bit overwhelming, yet in a good way. ( btw she is okay with me sharing this)

1. Respond to the Most Interesting: I encouraged her to reply first to people who seem interesting or match what she's looking for. It's fine not to reply to everyone right away. Like, respond to the best messages first. ( you have to pay Hinge to weed through these messages) so you can skip around.
2. Take Breaks and Set Limits: I suggested that it's okay not to answer every message. Setting limits and taking breaks can help avoid feeling overwhelmed.

3.    Be Clear in Communication: I encouraged her to be clear about what she wants in her replies. This helps avoid confusion and misunderstandings.

4. Step Back When Needed: I told her it's fine to take breaks from the app. Sometimes it can get too much, and a short break is okay.

5. Stay Safe: I reminded her to prioritize her safety. If any chat feels weird, aggressive, or combative, do not bother, as she has other options.

6. Enjoy the Experience: Lastly, I emphasized that dating should be fun. She doesn't need to reply to everyone, and she should enjoy the process without feeling too much pressure.
