MY ADVICE: My advice would be to have a calm and respectful conversation with this guy. You can express your appreciation for their intentions to take care of you, but also let them know that their promises to help with certain expenses have caused confusion or concern since he has not followed through. I also do not think you should go on any trip with him this early.
