Tenzin's line about "Life is one big, bumpy ride" is one bit of wisdom that stuck with me. As for Korrasami, it was a huge deal back in the day as most assumed the Korrasami hints were just your usual queer baiting. Then it happened, the first canon queer ship with the main character of a "kid's" show. Tumblr exploded with Korrasami reactions and fanart and when Bryke confirmed it on their Tumblr's a few days later it went berzerk (in a good way). Since then many other animated and kids show have had queer content, though it tends to be lop-sided towards WLW. On the representation front, Netflix's She-Ra has been good, though overall as entertainment I feel Korra's better in so many ways. To me, Korrasami overshadowed the plot resolution of Korra protecting Kuvira while putting the avatar cycle on the line. I thought that was beautiful and could have been talked about some more. Finally, Janet Varney, the voice of Korra, is a national treasure. Her podcast the JV Club is the podcast I listen to religiously (I even got Amy Dallen to be on it, her episode is great), plus now she does Braving the Elements with Dante Basco for even more avatar content. All this to say, I'm glad you enjoyed the show, people who dismiss it cuz it's not Avatar or they really don't like Korra's personality are missing out on all the Tenzin, Bolin and Varrick gold among other things.
