RR Chapter 2 -- page 7 rendering test (Patreon)

Hey everybody! 

Since RR Chapter 2 is going to be grayscale rather than color, I wanted to find a way to push my b&w work a little further to make up for it. I've always been a little allergic to photoshop brushes, but I finally sat myself down and figured some stuff out! 

It may seem weird to start on page 7 instead of 1, but pages 1-5 are basically an intro with lots of complicated environments that don't show up in the story again, so I decided to pick a page with lots of faces and minimal background because that's MOSTLY what people are coming to this story for anyways: the characters! 

I'm using The Rusty Nib photoshop brush pack, with the 20-80% ink washes for rendering and the Crusty Brush Pen for inks. Here's a closeup of what the inks look like: 

Somehow that little bit of warble in the lines just does it for me! I'm really liking how these pages are turning out! 

Thanks so much for your patience while I keep trying new things! Things have, unfortunately, been extremely hectic for my poor little family this past week, and I've fallen behind where I wanted to be with completed pages right. TLDR: my partner got SURPRISE!! laid off, after a long rally at work and a general feeling that things were about to level out and improve. So...the vibes are very low in the Jaspering household right now. I'm sure we'll be ok, but it might take me some extra time to finish pages.
