SAK IS BACK (hopefully, in July 2023) (Patreon)

Hello, my patient, patient friends. It's finally time.

Though my feelings towards the comic have naturally changed over time (I started it when I was 20 and I'm turning 34 this year lol) and I took a huge break from it (the second one, I might add! I took 2 years off in the mid 2010s to make a billion Regular Show pages) Sakana was never done, or cancelled, or abandoned! I needed to find the right time to start it up again, and NOW'S THAT TIME.

If you follow me on Twitter, you'll know that I reread the whole comic this week! My goal was to figure out how best to jump back in. What character should I focus on? Should I cut to the next day?

In case you need a refresher for where we left off: after their Hypraman hype-fest, Yuudai was invited to Taisei and Genkei's family dinner. Jiro and Chie ended their date with the revelation that Chie is close with one of the bad dudes who've been plaguing Genji (Jiro still doesn't know this, but we the audience do!) Taro was invited to Mori's flower show the next day but was like haha fuck that. Where to start?

Since nearly ALL OF VOLUME 3 takes place on the SAME DAY (haha pacing what) I decided to cut to the next day, Jiro and Taro are coming into work at the fish market.  Jiro is ON CLOUD NINE after his great date, which is very unlike him!

They run into the Kusagawa twins (who are big fans of Jiro and helped Yuudai find him a hat before the vol. 3 date, so that Taro wouldn't know that Jiro's hair looks exactly like Genji's now (wow that was a complicated series of events!))

BUT NOW TARO DOES KNOW JIRO GOT A GENJI HAIRCUT, and he's not happy.

I think chapter 25 will mostly be devoted to piecing together what happened at that family dinner Yuudai went to. Did it go well? Why's he acting so cagey???

AS FOR THE END OF SAKANA, because Volume 4 was always meant to be the final volume, here are the outstanding plotlines that need to be addressed:

• The Sakana family dinner, during which Genji will spill the beans about the bad dudes who are hassling him!
• Mori's flower store grand opening party! Everyone is invited, but will everyone come?
• How is Yuudai going to handle the *Arata Issue*?? Is he willing to accept help from his............friends????
• What will happen to the fish market stall if the yakuza take it over?? How is Chie connected to all of this?
• And more!

Uh...I THINK I can get all that figured out in the next 8 chapters! I'm committing myself wholly to 4 chapters at a time, just to keep things simple in my very busy brain. I hope you're excited!
