It started with the dawn, warm rays spreading across the bed.

Sydney woke up first, and nuzzled into his lover, gently as to not wake him up.

Alas, TJ yawned, and slowly turned around, their lips meeting.

"Love you" TJ said.

"Happy Valentine's" Sydney replied.

This seemed to put TJ on alert.

"I completely forgot. I'm so sorry-"

"Babe, relax" Sydney said as he kissed TJ's neck, "We'll celebrate it after work."

Slow, he untangled himself from TJ and went to the bathroom.

"It'll be the best Valentine's ever, just you watch."

"Hard to top the last one" TJ said, joining his husband.

"C'mon, keep your eyes closed" Sydney said.

"I'm trying" TJ giggled.

"Not hard enough!"

TJ kicked Sydney playfully; it was so softly that, combined with the fluffiness of his paw, the otter barely felt anything.

They were holding paws, Sydney taking the lead. He then stopped.

"Okay, open them."

TJ did, and raised a paw to his mouth.

"A bistro with a ska concert!?" TJ gasped, "How did you find one in such short notion."

"Moon Girl magic!" Sydney said, putting out his tongue.

The two entered, and were greated immediately with the beats that the outside only barely hinted at. They quickly found a table, but TJ was in no hurry to order, enjoying the energetic music.

"If you were to rate the past ten Valentine's, which one would say it's the best?" Sydney asked.

TJ thought.

"Today was among the best to be sure, but it had way too much to do with me" he folded his ears, "You barely got something special for yourself."

"Oh babe, you know I love you more than anything. That's enough for me."

The two laid in bed, entangled as in the morning.

"Still, I'm going to put far more effort in the next one" TJ said.

"If you say so."

The two kissed, and prepared for bed.
