I feel your pain, brother. Isn’t it just lovely that they’ve finally started acknowledging the working class folks, who they now suddenly call “essential workers”, which put themselves into insane (and extremely risky & dangerous) situations where they’re going to face all manner of anti-mask “activists” (*brainwashed snowflake fools ¯\_(ツ)_/¯*), throwing germ-spreading fits about what they feel they deserve, which is the right to break the law in certain cases/states, or the right to not wear masks in privately owned businesses like Walmart, because they simply don’t like masks (at the very tamest–their reasons always get outlandishly crazy). I guess people assume that by calling us “essential workers”, instead of joining our cause, and our struggle, for a living wage for all workers during “normal” times (nothing was ever normal before the pandemic, especially for the working class), and actual monthly financial assistance (and rent control) from the government for the duration of the pandemic (though it’s obvious they’re truly and utterly useless, unwilling, and incapable, of doing a damn thing for anyone who isn’t rich enough to buy them, oops, I mean “contribute to their campaigns”), that it’s going to make it all better for us. Even though we still live paycheck to paycheck, with the majority of us being one lost check away from complete ruin, which means we have to work at places like Walmart, for way too little pay, that nobody sane would want to do during a pandemic. Sorry for the rant, it’s just so frustrating to me at this point. We live in a failed state, which should be completely obvious to everyone at this point. But we are, as always, relied upon to do everything for next to nothing (because they know we’re desperate, so they exploit that fact), to advance the profits of multi-billion dollar, tax dodging corporations, who give nothing back to us (clearly), but also nothing to our government and our society as a whole. *long sigh* 😔
