I first discovered comedian/musician Paul Williams via the New Zealand edition of TASKMASTER - And if you're unfamiliar with TASKMASTER, it's a comedy show created by Alex Horne wherein a panel of performers are given ridiculous tasks to tackle by the Taskmaster (Greg Davies, in the original UK edition), administered by the Taskmaster's assistant (Horne, in the UK edition), with hilarious results.

The wait between seasons of TASKMASTER can be interminable, so when I heard there was a New Zealand edition, I leapt on it, if only to pass the time between UK seasons. I found it to be far from filler, though, because the first two seasons of the New Zealand version have been absolutely stellar. While Jeremy Wells has taken on the role of Taskmaster, the more important position of Taskmaster's assistant is filled quite ably by Paul Williams, who brings his own particular oddball charm to the administration of these oddball tasks.

As I mentioned, Williams is also a musician, and not only do I recommend you check out his latest album, SURF MUSIC, but his entire back catalog, as well - All of which you can find at his website, paulwilliams12.com.

More importantly, though, we recently had a Bit Of A Chat, in which we talked about Taskmaster, New Zealand, music, albums, Nelson rivalries, musicals, comedy, audiences, process, travel verses, airport residency, task dangers, writing, breaking codes, jealousy, brotherly love, Taika Waititi cuts, Bond musicals, Alex Horne's blessings, Prime friends, Surf dancing, unfinished films, cookies, praising B.J.'s, homemade Pizookies, roadtripping, Disney parks, Kiwi Burgers, and a Rose Matafeo challenge...
