We live for the Challenge (Patreon)

SHORT VERSION:
The challenge was bigger than I imagined. But the good stuff I achieved is good.
I'll go iRay, finishing stuff, preparing to coming back to work with GTS.
NO ETA FOR RETURNING YET.


LONG VERSION:

This is me versus all I had to deal with this year: pleasing but damn, I can't beat it... not yet.

The plans for this year were beautiful, like a delicious cake with that fancy topping, juicy filling and a cherry in the top...

Aaand all got is the baked cake o.0

No fancy topping, no juicy filling... It takes more than I had for doing it.

But I got the cake, and I'm going to have it, I like cake.

I got the cherry on top too, so, yeah, haha, it's something.

The cherry in the top is the new setup, built for doubling my rendering speed in 3Delight and push the limitations out of the way so I can also study and evolve in other things I was struggling with the "old"system.

The result is, uh, upsetting: it can render my biggest scenes in iRay. I have no idea how, but it did, and at an impressive speed, it didn't even filled all the video RAM! But it proved I needed at least twice the Video RAM and computer ram RAM I had before...

Good news: it renders faster and looks good. Also, I got a reasonable set of computer parts available at this time with a reasonable price, so, it was now or never.

Bad news: I suck at iRay. I've been trying it for months before having some acceptable results, meaning that I'm still leaning it and I have to "convert" a lot of surfaces before something new can come out.

It is, yet again, another long term investment that in the long run will turn my life and my work for the better, but it is a slow process.

Pretty fitting for an year where I worked like crazy and wasn't able to do it all  

That's a sour cherry... Unless you guys want to see my tests in Patreon? Yes? No? Maybe?

IDK, I still have a lot to fix here, time is very short lately, I can't do much for GTS and I'm overworked again.

I`ll have a render to post here soon, I`m still looking at it and deciding if it is ok for that.

I can't complain about 2022, it had pretty good results, even if those are a little over half I wished to achieve.

I'm a bit sad I have to postpone a lot of things, but my time is over (savings are over too), I must go back to my routine and prepare myself for going back working at GTS.

Time to sleep, I must fix more stuff this weekend. The year is not over yet, There`s a lot to be done.
