Cover Song #12: Groovy Kind of Love (Patreon)

Happy DECEMBER! 

As much as I imagined I would sing a holiday song for this month's Patreon cover, the Legendary Lizards sent in their requests and holiday songs were not among them. Lol! I was glad this song was requested though...

There is something so beautiful about the simplicity of this song. I read somewhere that the melody was written based on a classical composition. Makes sense! 

Full disclosure: I am listening to the original version of this song for the first time AS I TYPE THIS. I emulated the Phil Collins recording (love him!)... but Toni Wine's version is seriously groovy, baby!!  I'm digging it. It's wild to hear a song transform from artist to artist... it has the same bones but change the approach, and it comes to life in a whole different way. Speaking of groovy... What we have here on Patreon is pretty groovy, I think. :) Thank you for supporting my music through 2021. You remind me the purpose of making music, and the power in community.
