Cover Song #11: Time After Time (Patreon)

Hey friends, 

I'm writing you from my parent's tiny home in Rockport, MA. My suitcase has exploded into living room, and my music gear is everywhere... but when I'm not here, it's a really cute little cottage! Ha! 

This month's cover song came about when I was asked to learn this song for a wedding!  Listening to Time After Time has always made me feel super nostalgic, and playing it was no different. I hope you enjoy. You can download the song here.

Today I have the day off and I'm sitting here realizing how quickly 2021 has passed. With Thanksgiving around the corner, it's a good time to reflect. As you reflect, what are the bright spots of your year? What are the times that have made you feel most alive? 

For me, it's an obvious answer: Stepping into marriage with Patryk was one of the best days of my LIFE, let alone best day of my YEAR. So there's that. <3

Another huge highlight was playing Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, NH this past Thursday. The room was filled with almost 300 people who have supported my music since I was in COLLEGE! This is essentially the venue that built me. After hearing me on myspace, the Tupelo promoter let me open shows dozens of times (Paula Cole, Colin Hay, Cheryl Wheeler, Livingston Taylor, Pat McGee, Lucy Kaplansky and more). I'd drive my parent's old minivan up to NH on the weekends, and kept going back and building a fan base. Soon, Tupelo took another chance on me and gave me my first headlining show away from home!  I think I had just graduated from college. The show sold out 3 months in advance!!! It was truly crazy!!!!!  SO - every time I get to go back to that audience, it's a very meaningful experience for me. On Thursday, the entire place sang along with When You've Got Trouble. It took everything in me not to get choked up. I'll be riding that high for the rest of the year, for sure. 

If you haven't noticed, YOU are the GOOD in my life. A source of meaningful connection. Always a bright spot, even in the weird, dark times. Here's to finding the good in the ever changing, prettttty challenging world we live in.
