Early Access: Old Familiar (Patreon)

Old Familiar is the only previously unreleased song on the new Acoustic EP of Funeral For My Past! 

In writing Old Familiar, I took artistic liberties... I chose scenery to help create the feelings I had around this particular time in my life. I was admittedly self-indulgent with the details*, but that's the joy in creating. 

My 'relationship' at the time felt oddly parallel to what I've felt at a bar in New York City: lost in a crowd and overwhelmingly lonely.

Isn't it nice to know we can close our eyes, create a movie in our minds and work out the kinks of our emotions? Listening to music is the best therapy, maybe only topped by the therapeutic nature of songwriting. 

Gotta thank Paul Moak for the sound of that accordion at the end. Breaks my heart every time.
