Early Access: Gettin' Away For The Holidays (Patreon)

You're hearing it first! Gettin' Away For The Holidays is Track 4 on 'A Little Magic'! 

Two years ago, my family and I decided to dodge all our holiday traditions and get on a plane. We skipped the parties, the presents, the big dinner, the Christmas card photos... and we went to Paris. It was our first and only international trip as a family. Considering all that is going on in the world now, we are so happy we did that when we did. Anyway... this song is inspired by the idea of avoiding the stress of the holidays. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the holidays... but sometimes it can be a lot. 

When you add to the mix that we've all been home for... awhile... you can understand where this song came from. I wrote this over the summer, when a lot of us were itching to GET AWAY. 

The beaches of Turks & Caicos (where Patryk and I got engaged!) inspired the second verse. When times are crazy, it's nice to remember that somewhere there stillness, and peace. Or... somewhere there's an island and a strong margarita. :) 

Favorite part of this song? All the crazy instruments woven into it to add to that quirky almost Jimmy Buffet vibe.
