Big news!

1. UNREAL ENGINE 5, BABY!

Unreal Engine 5 has been released and boy is it insane! This comes with a huge leap in quality and a faster workflow. The next release for battlemaps is going to be a set of inspiring Canyon maps and vistas fully built with UE5 - the perfect staging ground for a dragon attack, the hunt for an earth elemental or a recreation of the battle of Thermopylae.  You'll find some more pictures scattered throughout the post.

2. BENEOS TOKENS IS ON Roll20 and Battlemaps WILL FOLLOW!

We claimed our own little corner on the roll20 marketplace! If you play via roll20, you can now do so using a curated and regularly updated choice of Beneos Tokens! That is not all though, as we are planning on getting Battlemaps up there as well.
However, we could use some help! If you are an expert concerning all things roll20, you could become part of the crew and support us in preparing our animated battlemaps for the roll20 marketplace!
Requirements are experience with roll20 maps, walls, lightning and asset management! If you already know a thing or two about dealing with the marketplace, that's great - but if you don't, don't let that discourage you from reaching out to us! There is some money to be made here, the details will be hashed out in private. We are looking forward to hear from you!  Important Note: Roll20 does not support the full spectrum of awesomeness of our Beneos Tokens module! There are only the monster's idle animations without the other ones like attacking, dying or walking. It's still pretty cool and a great way to bring your game to life, but the full potential is currently exclusive to FoundryVTT.

3. BIG UPDATES FOR BENEOS TOKENS INCOMMING!

There is going to be a detailed rundown on the upcoming features of the Beneos Tokens module tomorrow, be sure that you don't miss it! The newest token release is coming later today, too - take a look at the voracious Wendigo!

This guy is an absolute melee blender who can easily take on  a group of seasoned adventurers by himself. Be sure to grab his stats over at Beneos Tokens!

4. MOULINETTE MIGRATION!

If you are a regular reader of this column, you already know about our slow but steady data migration to Moulinette. We are now beginning to prepare our maps for Moulinette, checking everything our for functionality and stable performance. We are also looking into swapping out Points of Interest teleporters and Multilevel tokens for 'Monk's Active Trigger Tiles'. This would mean less module dependencies, massively reduced journal files (increasing performance and decreasing loading times) and much more potential for special stuff apart from teleportation. We are weighing the pros and cons of the swap, so stay tuned!

That's all folks - see you tomorrow with the Tokens Update and don't let the Wendigo bite ya!

Is the final map for Berez in Curse of Strahd getting delayed again? I have been waiting on that for quite some time. That aside, excited for UE5 and other improvements.

BeneosBattlemaps

Hey Kranin, I haven't delayed anything because I have no plan what to release when in the first place. I just switched priority temporarily to inspect the capabilities and opportunities with the new engine to adapt my workflow as soon as possible, what of course, will also be a benefit for all patrons and upcoming maps. That being said, I think i will start Berez after this one, and I will also do a poll if I should also do 2 Berez releases (as I did with the Amber Temple) to also cover more areas like the ruins mentioned in many homebrew expansions. Best, Ben

Multilevel and Active Tile Triggers work so well and they can so easily leverage other goodness -- BRAVO on that move!
