Hey you pen & paper fans out there,

This week, as the last ones, is all about optimizing and testing. As I wrote last week, I try to stick to my 2 releases a month schedule and that means I need to define deadlines for myself. That means I only have limited time slots to test things and Invest time for new features such as the animated tokens, our new website or Foundry VTT Premium adventures. I also met the super kind Madam Rogue Fox who offered to help me out with the discord which brings me to our first topic:

DISCORD SERVER

Yes - we now have a community discord! Fox set everything up and built us a great place to talk about maps and rpgs in general. On our Discord I’ll post updates and “behind the screen” sneak peaks. You will also be able to give feedback and have direct influence on the development. If you need help, have questions, want to know more about animated maps and tokens and all the crazy stuff we are doing…. join our

THE OLD BONEGRINDER

The first pack of this month as spoilered last week will be the Old Bonegrinder. It is close to being finished. From tomorrow on I’ll do all the boring stuff like capturing the scenes, rendering everything and building it up in Foundry VTT so you can drag and drop them into your game. To be honest, I am really proud of what we have achieved so far. With every release I really feel an improvement. With every new map I use some neat new features of the unreal engine. This time for example I am using simulated physics for the hanging ropes from the windmill sails and the gently swinging lantern in front of the entry door. I’m confident you’ll love it as well!

The Old Bonegrinder is also a great example to show how accurate our scenes are. Everything is exactly as intended. Exact scales exact positions. I only add things where logic forces me to :P For example wooden beams to support the structure of the whole architecture or to improve the gameplay. For example, I added a small moss covered wall in front of the bonegrinder to give some cover if used tactically (After all it’s an extremely difficult encounter at lvl 3). Last but not least, I also added a small but disgusting pigs stall because I love the idea of DragnaCarta’s and MandyMod’s Curse of Strahd extensions that the hags turn the kids to cattle instead of putting them into crates and torturing them with needles...

POLL

The last topic is about this little poll. I would like to get a better grasp on how you are using my maps. Are you playing on Roll20? FoundryVTT? DD Editor!? I would really appreciate your feedback.

Best regards and stay healthy,
- Ben

You should look into TaleSpire: https://culture.vg/forum/topic?t=7276 True next-gen 3D VTT. It's the future. Don't put more work into 2D VTTs. Go where the future is. Your work is inherently 3D and it will shine on TaleSpire.
