ACES Concept Art: Redesigning the Helios Ray (Patreon)

Those who have read ACES from the beginning will notice that Alfred had a nifty weapon he was going to use on that monster during the very first pages of chapter 1. Needless to say, you're going to be seeing the Helios Ray in more detail, as we get deep into Chapter 2! 

As we were planning out what the cover of Chapter 2 should look like (and yes, we will show that off, once it's finished!), Eli wanted to give the raygun a little redesign; The original design was inspired by the Tesla gun from Warehouse 13 (It's the ref pic on the top-left, for those who don't know), and I wanted to give off a similar vibe with it, since it had a nice steampunk look to it. So, when I told her about what the gun does and how it works, I mentioned that the design needs to incorporate the red jewel (which I'm tentatively calling the "Helios Gem"), along with a dial; again, it'll all make sense, once we get well into the chapter.

With all that in mind, Eli suggested that maybe it should have a more Dieselpunk look to it (AKA, 50's inspired designs, similar to what you see in the Fallout series), so we've been hard at work making sure this version will look even better than the previous one! Once I have the final design ready, I will be sure to post it here, first!
