I am receiving questions I can not answer, so let me clarify:

I am not, nor is InRange, part of Forgotten Weapons or Headstamp Publishing.

If you have questions about either of those projects, please contact Ian directly through those conduits.

Yeah, but are you a part of headstamp publishing!? /S

Charles Easton

Sounds like what happens to me in a fever dream 😬

Sean Smith

this is the best response under the circumstances

Jay Ess Bee

I'm bewildered how many times you've had to clarify things regarding FW and InRangeTV

Nyrom

But Kaaaaarl, you made videos together, that means you are basically two people sharing the same body.

Anonymous

My question: Russell Bunny Merch when?

Alan B.

Yeesh.. humans....

Robert Rowe

Mentioning "Nazis" does cause a pavlovian reaction, including drooling, shrieking and shutting down much of the fore brain in many people.

InRangeTV

Well, there's a lot of people who remember their parents or grandparents being liquidated in Nazi death camps, and people still alive to day with serial number tattoos on their arms. There's probably a pretty good reason for that.

Scott

I found myself with an extra $5/month today and decided to up my InRange Patreon contribution. Thanks for your quality content!

Steelheart

Just remember that it's actually possible to fix stupid but it's at least one felony charge...

To add on to IRTV - both Anne Frank and Martin Luther King would've only died very recently had they not been killed. These problems aren't some things that are practically imaginary due to age like say, Mongol invasions. In the grand scheme of human history, they were only yesterday.

Frank Baud

Karl, what is your stance on pineapple on pizza???? The people demand answers

Robert Rowe

Oh, agreed. The 1930ish through May of 1945 Nazis certainly weren't a joke (well, Herman Goering WAS kind of a sight gag, albeit serious as slow asshole cancer). But when younger people several generations removed from the 3rd Reich era reflexively want to cut Ian dead for helping publish a BOOK, somehow not connecting those reactions with just about every one of their chosen flavor of USA politicians, who have done REAL services for REAL Nazis and every other flavor of fascist and authoritarian murderers, starting around 1934 and continuing until quite recently? Yo, Hilary Clinton AND Obama used those same Nazis when it looked like a good way to stick their thumb in Putin's eye. History is repeating. I'm hoping this is the comedy run, not the tragedy edition and I'm pitching my comments so- Laugh or cry.

When I saw the notification stating "Forgotten Weapons & Headstamp Publishing Questions" coming from Inrange, my first thought was what does this have to do with Inrange? After reading Karl's statement my thought turned to WTF? I think the average global IQ must have recently undergone a sharp nose dive.

Robert Rowe

It's most efficient to let the problem self correct and often takes less effort- You just need to steer them towards a wide open area and provide the means (memes?).

Robert Rowe

MIGHT have only died very recently, yes. I spend more time thinking about how Allen Dulles, Henry Kissinger, Richard Chenney and a number of others lived long, comfortable lives and are honored after their natural deaths.

Anonymous

But in this instance, these are *Neo* Nazis that Ian is platforming. He's not platforming Hitler, he's platforming Azov Battalion, which is so infested with neonazis that even their logo is a wolfsangel - from the SS Das Riech.

Robert Rowe

I, for one, am going to read the book. If Ian says A: author NOT himself a neo-nazi? And B: material is worth reading? I will trust Ian. And shake my head at idiots throwing the baby out with the bathwater before even ascertaining the bathwater has been shat in. Neither Ian nor Karl are Nazis. They're not Koch heads, proud boyz or any other popular modern flavor of fascist either. They actually study history and they to get deeper than the "authorized for general release" MIC supportive version. Where do YOU come off thinking this project will glorify the Azovs? I've read war memoirs from a lot of people on several sides of several wars. The flat truth of what was done usually is quite ugly and non agrandizing. Nobody is or ever was squeaky clean, we have to lie a lot and ignore/gloss over a great deal of what happened or there won't be enough fresh meat asking for a uniform next time. I'm quite interested in finding WTF happened and NO single source or side's views give me a good enough picture. One more time: If Ian says A: author NOT neonazi and B:material is worth reading, I will trust him. Why exactly don't YOU trust him?

Anonymous

Karl is the real reason why you and Ian haven't been doing inrange together because you're the mysterious writer of the new book and you've been secretly fighting a war as a Finnish man in Ukraine. We're on to you Karl we're on to you!

Anonymous

It baffles me how people can completely miss the entire concept of platforming individuals, regardless of their intentions. Crazy how people can see right through proxy wars, but not through platforming.

Frank Leonard

I'm not trusting him because it isn't true. social media feed is awash with fascistic ultranationalist content. Here's a gem I've selected at random from his tweets: ”The role of the Armed Forces has gradually become to defend politics and "values" instead of people and nation. They have sacrificed the ability for this and in the end the price is that they also sacrifice the women. Anyone who does not see this as criminal is either sick or evil." You can look him up yourself @fri_skytt

Frank Leonard

https://twitter.com/fri_skytt/status/1038537979986423809?t=urL4ihwh0BR2xc4hFmgp7A&s=19 Kind of a funny sentiment for a "not a nazi" to have, don't you think? The text he added translates to "Which side you want to stand on is up to each one."

Chris Hamlin

As Andersson's Twitter feed shows, Ian is platforming an explicit white nationalist and it's absolutely disgusting.

Robert Rowe

I have not read the twitter feed. I avoid twitter 99.98% of my days, because it's even worse than FarceBook for general BS, social engineering, propaganda & ploys. We are talking about a BOOK here. Not the dude's twitter feed (were those Twats made during the 2014 - 2015 fighting???). I've read enough stuff soldiers wrote at the beginning of a war and what the survivors wrote after their fight was over to understand that seeing the elephant can make them understand things very differently. Are (or were) YOU any different at 19 YO and 25? 25 to 35??? One more time: I intend to read it. Sorry if it bothers you all that Ian isn't accepting your feelings that he needs to bow to some small but vocal % of his audience personal opinions on a book they have not yet read.

Frank Leonard

So you had no idea what you were talking about before publicly dismissing the criticisms of platforming a nazi as "pavlovian". Got it. Edit to respond to your edit: The tweets I referenced were from this month and 2018 respectively. You could have checked and not asked, but here we are, laughing at you.

Side note: The BackerKit project was closed for a while and now 404's. Who wants money on this being the corporate oligarchy making a decision on Ian's behalf? Just as Karl has consistently warned...

Jason

Well, Karl, I like you even with your P-on-P flaw. And it will not change my support for InRange.

Anonymous

His patreon is still here, but he took down or unlisted everything that links to the 404'd BackerKit link

Sad to see that we can’t get any first hand accounts of history without a huge controversy. I knew from the beginning that you had good intentions, and it makes me sad that we’ll never get to see the story. Behind you all the way Ian!

Frank Leonard

The Nazi never *had* to be published by Ian. He can sell his story to anyone he wants. My hope is there isn't anyone willing to buy.

Ash

Yeah, that's kind of obvious with what you've been doing, talking about, and talking to. Your Battle of Hayes Pond is one of the videos I bring up when talking about gun stuff with friends. You have made a lot of history that was hidden from me accessible. Thanks for that.

Anonymous

Karl ever thought of writing a book on the old west, not just the known stories but those obscure ones that only 1 or 2 people know about?

Robert Rowe

Frank Leonard Well, I would need some reason to value your opinion before wasting my time on Twitter OR caring about passive-aggressive attempts at an insult by someone both too repressed to admit to themselves they want to do harm because, feelings hurt- and incapable of crafting a memorable or meaningful burn. "We"? Do you have a pet mouse in your pocket who agrees with you or are you the Queen of England? Congratulations. You have participated in the self righteous neoliberal equivalent of book burning- Book contraception, as it were. If you're working from Tel Aviv, Langley, Moskva or Povitroflotskyi Square, Kyiv, your supervisor should put you up for a raise.

Electro_Static

Poor Ian. Fuck, I don’t think that anyone at forgotten weapons endorses Nazis. Also fuck people for mobbing InRange TV because Karl works with Ian. The 2A community is full of folks with terrible views. I know that Forgotten Weapons and InRange TV have gone out of their way to steer clear of crazy even when most 2A channels have steered into it for profit. I can’t help but think everyone is a victim but the author

Anonymous

Pineapple and ham go very well together, some people are just too stubborn to see the truth!

Anonymous

No one is stopping Carolus from publishing his war diaries somewhere else. Ian is in no way obligated to platform white supremacists, especially when it could seriously ruin his reputation as a professional and apolitical source of in-depth firearms knowledge.

Anonymous

Ah yes, the good old "everyone who diesn't support my view is a bot" Really?

Juraj

Do I want a context or should I just enjoy the weekend without internet bullshit?

J.Walton

Ian wanted to publish a memoir from Finnish merc who fought in Donbas. Turns out dude was a full fledged Nazi (real one, not a guy who told an off color joke), lied to Ian about the extent of his involvement and current affiliations in the NeoNazi movement, and Ian dropped the book 'cause he doesn't wanna (and could face real life complications for, as well) work with a dude like that. So Ian is a closet nazi or a cuck who bowed to the left, depending on which pack o' freaks you ask. TL;DR - Ian had a rough day, did the right thing, everything is cool again for 99% of folks.
