Good Day Ms. Jessica,
I apologize if this has been asked before but I have been curious about this for a little while: Upon mutating, is there a chance that the physical and/or mental capabilities of a mutant are enhanced beyond their previous limits? Thank you for reading this at the very least, and have a wonderful day!

Absolutely! I’ve talked about a lot of mutants in the past who have had higher strength, speed, endurance, stamina, or even simply enhanced bodily functions via their mutations. In fact, these are some of the most common! Level 1 mutants will frequently simply get something like a heightened sense without showing any outward signs of mutation. Level 2 and above mutants might show greatly enhanced physical abilities, far beyond what a human can do.

Some of this is because of the mutation itself. Muscles can mutate to simply be more efficient.

However much of this is simply due, once again, to physics.

A four armed girl will have an easier time picking up a 100kg weight than a two armed girl. Why? Because each arm only has to lift 25kg for the four armed girl, whereas each arm has to lift 50kg for the two armed girl. Yes, they have to struggle a bit because of the extra weight of the arms themselves, but the extra muscle mass they have more than compensates for that.

The same thing goes for girls with multiple legs. A two legged girl has to carry their whole weight on just two points of force. In fact a “run” is just a leap forward with each leg that we eventually catch ourselves with. Four legged girls can use two legs at a time to push off, giving them enhanced speed. Girls with snake tails or tentacles can even more points of contact and reach some truly outstanding speeds.

So yes, mutations can make you stronger or faster, but that’s not necessarily because your body is somehow superhuman. It’s simply because that’s how the math of physical activity works out.
