The alarm went off early the next day and I could barely reach out to turn it off. Actually, the memory of the previous day with Faith under the influence of the Catnip was not easy to forget at all.

Ever since I met Faith, I had found her interesting, intelligent, capable and very pretty, from an exotic point of view, or maybe that's what I wanted to believe. However, the truth is that now I could not stop thinking about her.

While I ate a yogurt for breakfast, I tried to think about how to talk to Faith that day. Would she remember everything she said yesterday? Even if she did not, just the idea of seeing her again made me blush.

As I was leaving the house, I felt a vibration on my phone. It was a message from Faith.

"Sorry," she said briefly. This showed me that she remembered at least something of what happened yesterday.

I hurried to get to the University. The class project I was working on with Faith took a back seat in my mind. I just wanted to meet her and chat.

By the time I made it there it was impossible for me to meet her before the first class. Once class had started, I took notice of her in a far corner. Her ability as a cat to be stealthy did not let me to notice where she was easily.

After class was over, I hurried out after her and met Faith. I almost lost sight of her, but I could see her walking down a side corridor, alone. I was forced to call out to her.

"FAITH!" I had to yell, "Hey, wait for me!"

I could see how she stopped still at the end. She wasn’t turning back to me but I noticed a slight tremor in her body.

"Hey... please don't avoid me," I said in a soft tone, "I just want to talk to you."

“The project…,” she interrupted, “I have the information ready. It's on this zip drive”, she said, handing me the device. “I will talk to the teacher to allow us to do the work separately. Sorry for all the inconvenience." She spoke without looking at me.

"What?! NO!” I said in genuine amazement, “Faith, we're doing great. Is it because of yesterday?”

I could see Faith tensing her body. Then she turned around and I could see tears in her eyes.

“Oliver, I'm sorry. I’m very ashamed and I am really sorry that I ruined everything,” she said almost sobbing, “You are the nicest person in the world and you have really become a light for me at this university… but I blew it, with a foolish oversight."

"Faith, I don't know how much you remember about yesterday, but seriously… I swear it wasn't that terrible," I told her.

"Not even when I teased you at the motel?" she said seriously.

"Well, it seems you remember everything," I said scratching my head, "But yeah, even with that. I know you were not in your right mind. So obviously I did not accept.”

"It must have been a bit disgusting that I proposed to you," Faith said looking down at the ground.

“No, of course not!” I said forcefully, “There is nothing disgusting about you. You are smart, funny, beautiful…”, I couldn't follow up when I noticed that Faith looked at me absolutely surprised. I had spoken without thinking and had confessed all the thoughts that I had stored since yesterday. After a moment of silence, I saw that Faith finally smiled.

"Well, do you think then that we can continue to be study partners?" she asked in a calmer tone.

"Yes, YES! That would be excellent," I said with a bit of awkward enthusiasm, "Do you want to go to the Library?"

"Sounds good to me," Faith replied. Then looking to the side she added, “Although it is a bit pathetic for a girl like me to seek a bit of reassurance…. It really feels nice that someone finds me beautiful."

"Yeah, well... I really think you're so pretty," I said completely blushing by now. I could see how under Faith's white fur that the flush of her skin was rivaling my own. She shook her head and said, “Ok, that was enough flattery. We are going to finish that presentation.” She grabbed me by the arm and we went off together to the library.

The days passed and the presentation became more and more solid. Faith was actually amazing and the smartest girl I had ever met.

Little by little, we had become closer to the point of being in physical contact every time we worked, shoulders touching here, or hands touching there. I had even gone to her house to work, although we had never gone beyond friendship.

The day of the presentation was great. I tried to do my best, but Faith was the one who stole the show. We got the highest mark and received congratulations from our classmates, even from Dave, who congratulated Faith profusely. She had definitely broken the ice with everyone.

After class, I started to feel a little scared. This project was our excuse to see each other and work together. However, what would happen from now going forward? Obviously, we could still be friends, but that was no longer enough for me.

“Well that was amazing. I think it's the best job I've ever done in college, and it's all thanks to you," I told Faith as we walked towards the entrance.

"Don't minimize your contribution," she told me with a smile on her face, "You're smart Oliver, a little distracted, but very smart...," she paused, "...And you really are the best thing that has happened to me in a long time.”

The seriousness with which she said this last sentence made both of us stop walking. Without even thinking, I took her by the hands and tried to articulate a few words.

"Faith... the truth is that I... I mean, I really do..." I couldn't finish before Faith stretched out as far as she could and kissed me on the lips. I immediately picked her up in my arms and kissed her back. I didn't know how many seconds or minutes had passed, but I knew they weren't enough. When we finally broke the kiss, she smiled and said calmly and clearly.

"I love you too Oliver."

That day we walked back to our homes together. I could feel Faith holding my arm tightly as we walked. A feeling of genuine happiness washed over me.

Suddenly I felt a tug from Faith, who had stopped walking in her tracks. We were in front of that same motel from before. We looked at each other in silence until she asked.

"How about this time?"
