Like you, on my first watch, I was VERY confused for awhile. But I actually really appreciate that they chose to film it this way—I think it makes the viewer better relate to what Julianna is experiencing—she doesn’t know who to trust, who is a good or bad guy, she doesn’t know what the film is or what it means etc. I also agree with you that the cinematography is just so on point. It’s definitely a very dark show.. but also very well done!
