FYI, The two math are Pythagorean theorem and Euler's Identity. a^2 + b ^ 2 = c ^ 2. - an equation about triangles. e^(i \ pi) + 1 = 0, It is an equation about circles, where it combines e, i, pi, 1, 0 perfectly and expressing hundreds of years math discovery.

I hope you are still checking your replies. The reason you see in many of these shows that police often just 'assume' something, like in this case, that the neighbor being drunk meant that she wasn't a reliable witness, is because, unlike is portrayed in most police TV shows, detectives work on multiple cases at the same time. A detective can be working on six or more cases at the same time in real life, while on TV, they just work on a single case for the length of the episode. I'd suggest you look into the TV show Homicide: Life on the streets. That is the closest depiction of real-life police work that I've come across on TV. If a case doesn't deliver clues in the first 48 to 72 hours, it's considered to be losing steam and the chances of solving it go down rapidly. That's why there are so many open and cold cases. Factor in that crime is extremely high in major cities, the number of police officers is extremely low and dropping, especially in the current climate and you can begin to see why closure rates are so low. Something else you might not have picked up on, is the fact that the Nolan brothers gave a lot of fanservice to the viewers. You know that they were involved with the Batman trilogy AND during POI's run, it was often referred to as a 'If Batman was real, it would be POI' with Reese and Finch as both sides of Batman/Bruce Wayne ie. the money/tech and muscle, with Shaw, Root, Carter and Fusco as the other heroes. Who in the Batman-verse does the character of Walter remind you of, with the hat and trenchcoat? Why, Commissioner Gordon, of course! When Walter remarked on John's whispering speech, it was a nod to Batman's own whisper of DOOM! And the hero-walk of Shaw and Fusco when they arrived at the meeting. It was all a wink-and-a-nod to the fans, telling them that 'Yes, we know you know and thanks for noticing'. We POI fans are a strange lot. We discuss the parallels of the show with Batman and Fusco's various nicknames for the rest of the team (Mr. Good News for Finch, Tall, Dark and Deranged among others for Reese, Coocoo for Cocoa Puffs/Banana Nut Crunch for Root etc.). Not to mention the use of music to set the scene. I'm so glad you're enjoying the show.
