Deacon's wink is a nod to Jennifer's wink when she tricked Jones into sending her back to 2017 after being imprisoned in S3 E10. It implies like Olivia, Deacon is playing the long con.... a double agent working for team Splinter and Olivia. Also right in the beginning, Jennifer's song "Jones Pourquoi C'est Si Long" (J.H. Bond) is playing right in the background as they search for archived records for "Climb the steps, ring the bell". Jennifer mentioned this back in S3 E2 Guardians when she was trapped in France.
